Medic Tutorials - Medicine and Language
Австралия
Добавлен 13 июл 2014
Welcome to the RUclips home of Medic Tutorials. My name is Asher and I want you to join me in learning about some of the coolest processes happening within the human body, and also in nature.
If we do not currently have the tutorial you are looking for, send me an email and I will add it as soon as I can.
I am a medical scientist from Australia, but more than that, I am a lifelong student wanting to help other students learn about the human body and maintain their fascination for science.
As there are lots of people studying english alongside studying medicine, this channel will also have several playlists aimed towards learning english, hopefully you can find something here that helps you!
Good luck with your learning and remember that if you always remain curious, study never gets boring.
All the best everyone!
Asher

The Erythrocyte Life Cycle
Просмотров 67 тыс.9 лет назад
Red blood cells start out in the bone marrow where they must differentiate through several cellular stages before they can enter the blood stream as the oxygen carrying cells we commonly refer to as RBC's. In this video we will summarise the erythrocyte life cycle and the various steps involved in both synthesis, and recycling.
DNA Structure
Просмотров 4 тыс.9 лет назад
The DNA double helix is a shape that almost everyone knows, but the way in which this helical structure is formed and maintained is important to know so that we may understand more detailed processes. In this video we will have a look at the composition of DNA and it's bonds.
DNA Replication- Eukaryotes
Просмотров 153 тыс.9 лет назад
DNA Replication within eukaryotic cells is a tightly controlled process that uses several enzymes to create an identical chromosome in preparation for cell division. In this tutorial we will summarise the whole process, focussing on individual components in later lessons.
The Endomembrane System
Просмотров 54 тыс.9 лет назад
The endomembrane system consists of many of the organelles within eukaryotic cells. All of these organelles work together in some way to make sure the cell is functioning correctly. In this tutorial we will briefly discuss the system and how each part contributes.
Intracellular Organelles- Peroxisomes
Просмотров 31 тыс.9 лет назад
Peroxisomes can be thought of as the detoxification centres of the cell, they use specific enzymes to break down toxic substances and neutralize free radicals. In this tutorial we will briefly discuss its structure and function.
Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cell Differences
Просмотров 4,8 тыс.9 лет назад
Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells are vastly different, in this video we will talk about a few of the main differences in relation to the structure of the cell and it's contents. In a later tutorial we will focus more closely on genomic differences.
Intracellular Structures- The Nucleolus
Просмотров 85 тыс.9 лет назад
Within our nucleus, we house a region referred to as the nucleolus. In this tutorial we will discuss how the nucleolus is arranged and the functions it serves in regard to ribosome construction.
Intracellular Organelles- The Nucleus
Просмотров 13 тыс.9 лет назад
The easiest way to think of our nucleus is as the brain of our cell. It contains our genetic material and also regulates the construction of new proteins through the creation of mRNA's in transcription. In this tutorial we will briefly discuss the structure and primary function of the nucleus.
Intracellular Organelles- The Lysosome
Просмотров 126 тыс.9 лет назад
We can think of lysosomes as the intracellular demolition and recycling centres. The process in which they are made and the packaging of their enzymes must be carried out carefully to ensure that their digestive enzymes do not do any unwanted damage to the cell. In this video we will discuss its structure and function within the eukaryotic cell
DNA Structure- Chromatin
Просмотров 104 тыс.9 лет назад
We can think of chromatin as the packaging material in which we keep our DNA. Chromatin is a structure made up of DNA, RNA and proteins and it's regulation effects how our cells express their genes. In this tutorial we will talk about it's basic structure, components and functions.
Intracellular Organelles- The Golgi Apparatus
Просмотров 125 тыс.9 лет назад
The Golgi Apparatus is often referred to as the processing centre of the cell, and it comes as no surprise that it is responsible for packaging and labelling many cellular products for deployment throughout the body. In this video we will discuss its basic structure and functions.
Intracellular Organelles- Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (SER)
Просмотров 38 тыс.9 лет назад
The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is part of the endomembrane system of most eukaryotic cells. In this tutorial we will briefly discuss its structure and roles within the cell.
Intracellular Organelles- Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER)
Просмотров 45 тыс.9 лет назад
We can think of our rough endoplasmic reticulum as the primary protein folding and processing centre within the cell. It is also quite special in that it is continuous with the outer lipid layer of the phospholipid bilayer of the nucleus. In this video we will go into detail about the functions of the RER and its components.
Intracellular Structures- Ribosomes
Просмотров 115 тыс.9 лет назад
Within our cells, we refer to ribosomes as the protein factories. Ribosomes are the cellular machines that carry out translation, in this tutorial we will focus on the basics of it's structure and function, as well as the several locations we will find them.

Love this video
I wonder if there any other artists besides me who lurks in anatomy channels to have a deeper understanding of human body that art teachers are not willing to give out for free.
Anybody in 2024
Very nice video Thank you
Thank you Sir
What’s the correct Option? i- In the deltoid muscle, the arrangement of its middle muscle fibers is: a. Multipennate b. Bipennate c. Unipennate d. Fusiform e. Mimetic
I searched whole internet for hours to get a good explanation and finally i got it.. Its so hard to understand by reading from books as we are bombarded with terms. This video is life saver.
That was a nice basic break down! Loved the simple explanation!

Hello from California! I have a question. Do Golgi in all types of cells (liver and kidney cells) have the same function and structure ? If we were to purify the Golgi ( fractionation) from different cells, (not plant) would they function the same and have the same structure ??? I was asked if the Golgi in HEK293 cells and HEP2 cells have the same function and structure and I’m stuck.
Very bad experienced with this product, all are unprofessional team , i have purchased this product before 2 months , but i started to use this AC , it's not cooling ,i have complained to Sumit gulati's number for this issue , he didn't do anything for my AC's working.he has no manners how to talk customers .
it looks like whoever discovered the nucleus was running out of names. Nucleoli, nucleolus, and nucleus...and no clear explanation of what is what.
You did an amazing job explaining this. You've helped more than you can imagine with studying from my textbook. Keep up the work you do 🙏
Wow ! Thank you so much. Was struggling for a whole hour.👏👏👏👏
Amazing video, my midterm is tomorrow and I’m kind of freaking out.
This is so helpful, thank you so much! Love from the PNW ❤
